ANGLE Constitution

Scope of Operations
The aim of Angle shall be to consolidate and promote the well being and interests of local Advanced Electronic and Engineering companies.
The group will support the aims of the Norfolk Engineering Sector Group, the Shaping the Future Strategy and local education initiatives aimed at promoting engineering as a career and other initiatives for the benefit of members.
Membership
A full member is involved in the manufacturing, design, added value or technical support of
Advanced engineering products. In addition the economic development department of the local government authority automatically qualifies for memberships
An associate member is a specialist provider of services or product to full member companies.
An existing member may invite a guest to a meeting.
After the meeting the guest may wish to join ANGLE and complete a company information form for consideration by the group. This is submitted to the Secretary.
The details are circulated to members with option to accept membership, discuss at the next meeting or disagree. Members who do not respond by the specified date will be assumed to have no objection to the membership request.
Membership will be generally accepted when 80% of the members are in agreement.
The member who invited the guest is responsible for communicating the decision.
Each company is entitled to one vote only, except changes to the constitution which may only be decided by Full Member Companies.
A member can be asked to leave the group if there is an 80% majority amongst the membership in favour of such action.
Membership is free.
Individuals or Member companies may not express views on behalf of Angle.
The officers and group are not liable for the actions of individual members.
Officers
The officers of the group shall be elected from full member companies and shall comprise
Chairman
Vice Chairman
Secretary
The position of officers is to be elected on a 2 yearly basis. At least 75% of the members must be in favour of the candidates and at least 75% of the members must have voted.
Communications
Members will be advised of meetings, events and relevant topics by the Secretary via email or by other means as appropriate.
Requests to the Chairman or Vice Chairman should be copied to the Secretary.
Disputes
Any grievance should be submitted to the Secretary in writing.
Consideration of the grievance will be given by the officers before presentation to the membership if unresolved.
Changes to the Constitution
Any changes to the constitution must be discussed and voted at a full member meeting where at least 30 days notice has been given in electronic or written form.
A change must be agreed by 75% of the members where at least 75% of the members have voted.
