 SELECTION GUIDE  

Noritake Itron standard VFDs are available with character or graphic display formats.
Character displays tend to provide higher brightness but generally show simple icons.
Graphic displays offer both variable height character and graphic image capability but tend to be slightly more expensive.

The table below uniquely shows both character (DN/AU/CU) and graphic display (MN/MW/GU/GW) options for the
number of characters and rows that are possible on each VFD product.

Example: If you want a display with 20 characters x 4 rows, you will find
character products with 20 x 4 , but also graphic products capable of 23 x 4 characters in a similar size.
This is possible on certain graphic products as the inter-character gap can be varied from 1 to 2 dots.
The suffix after the part number format (-7000,-K610A8,etc) denotes the product functionality.
 
The display height is shown to assist in selecting a product according to the expected viewing distance.
Generally, a 2-3mm VFD cam be viewed up to 1 metre, 4-5mm up to 2 metres and greater than 9mm from 3+metres.
You can normally select a smaller VFD character height compared to LCD products due to the higher brightness of VFD.
